The course “Supporting Pre-schoolers with Challenging Behaviours” aims to equip early childhood educators with the knowledge and skills to analyse the functions of behaviours and learn strategies to manage challenging behaviours in the classroom effectively.

This course is conducted by an educational psychologist experienced in supporting children with challenging behaviours in the pre-school setting.

Learning Outcomes

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:

  • Understand some of the key reasons why children exhibit challenging behaviours
  • List the strategies that can be applied in the classroom to support children with challenging behaviours
  • Practice classroom strategies to support children with challenging behaviours

Course details

It is a 1-day course from 9am to 5.30pm. The course will be conducted in English. Online or on-site training modes are available depending on course runs.

The course “Supporting Pre-schoolers with Literacy Difficulties” aims to equip early childhood educators with the knowledge and skills to identify students who may be struggling with literacy learning, and learn strategies to support students with literacy difficulties in the classroom effectively.

This course is conducted by an educational therapist experienced in supporting children with literacy difficulties in the pre-school setting.

Learning Outcomes

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:

  • Describe literacy development and red flags in children
  • List strategies to support children with literacy learning difficulties in the classroom
  • Practice classroom strategies to support children with literacy learning difficulties

The course “Supporting Pre-schoolers with Sensory Modulation Difficulties” aims to equip early childhood educators with the knowledge and skills to identify sensory modulation difficulties, and learn strategies to support students with sensory modulation difficulties in the classroom effectively.

This course is conducted by an Occupational Therapist experienced in supporting children with sensory modulation difficulties in the preschool setting.

  • List strategies to support children with sensory modulation difficulties in the classroom

This course is conducted by a speech language therapist experienced in supporting children with speech language difficulties in the pre-school setting.

  • Describe and differentiate the factors that contribute to common speech and language difficulties
  • List strategies to support children with speech and/or language difficulties in the classroom
  • Practice classroom strategies to support children with speech and/or language difficulties

The course ‘Increasing Engagement in the Pre-school Classrooms through Differentiated Teaching’ (IEPCDT) aims to equip early childhood educators with the knowledge and skills to implement differentiated teaching in their classrooms to increase student engagement and optimise student learning. In the face of growing diversity in the classrooms, educators need to recognise the benefit of utilising strategies that enable them to reach and challenge each student. Differentiated instruction is a powerful teaching strategy where educators can modify their instruction to address the strengths and needs of all learners. In this workshop, participants will learn what it means to differentiate teaching in the areas of content, process, product, and learning environment in the inclusive preschool classroom.

Learning Outcomes
Upon course completion, participants will be able to:
• Analyse child’s level of engagement and identify the focused areas of intervention
• Develop an activity plan incorporating the strategies for differentiated instruction

IEPCDT is a 1.5 day course conducted in English. Online or on-site training modes are available depending on course runs.
