Mr Wong is an educator who also motivated many others when he shared his rehabilitation journey at conferences that he had been invited to. He graduated with a distinction in Bachelor of Science (Honours), majoring in Physics, Specialisation in Physics in Technology, and a minor in Nanoscience, at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
A recipient of the Alice and Peter Tan Scholarship in 2016 and valedictorian for the NUS Faculty of Science in 2017, Mr Wong completed his undergraduate studies amid coping with an acquired disability and taking a year off from school after the accident for rehabilitation.
Mr Wong received The Straits Times Generation Grit Award 2018 and with the prize money, he has set up a Resilience Award in his alma mater Eunos Primary School to encourage students who have shown grit and courage amid adversities.
