Mr Charlton Ong is Vice President, People & Culture and Singapore, and accountable for human capital development for Group Enterprise, the enterprise arm of Singtel Group. Concurrently, he is the country HR lead for Singapore since 2012.
Mr Ong was previously Vice President of HR for Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Asia Pacific region. Over the last 30 years in HR, he has also worked for British Telecom and Honeywell, among others MNCs. During his time with Honeywell, Mr Ong was primarily based in Shanghai where the Asia Pacific HQ was located.
A strong advocate for labour-management relationship, Mr Ong believes in open and consultative approach and engages the union proactively for views and inputs on any people initiatives, and keeps his opinions open on their suggestions to improve staff welfare. In recognition of his contribution to the labour movement, Mr Ong was conferred a May Day Award in 2017.
