Ms Tan Bee Heong joined SPD’s Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Committee in April 2024. She was the general manager of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) for nine years. Prior to joining STSPMF, Ms Tan was the general manager of Community Chest (Singapore) where she was responsible for managing the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and raising funds for more than 70 social service agencies.

Ms Tan has more than 20 years of experience in the social service sector, having started out her career as a human resource practitioner. She joined the NCSS as its human resource director in 2002 and was subsequently appointed as director of Social Service Training Institute where she was instrumental in setting up the Institute, implementing training roadmaps and rolling out training programmes for the sector.

Between 2018 and 2021, the social service veteran served on the School Advisory Committee of Mayflower Primary School, the first designated primary school in Singapore for students with hearing loss who use sign languages.
