Mr David Klingensmith worked in banking and investing capacity for almost 40 years in the US, Colombia, Pakistan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Europe and Africa with various institutions starting with the Chase Manhattan Bank and Asian Development Bank, and then for 20 years, he was at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London (EBRD), ultimately as managing director of risk. Since 2013, Mr Klingensmith has been on corporate and bank boards, and currently is on the investment committee of private equity funds including Africinvest’s private equity (AFIV) and its Financial Inclusion Fund (FIVE) as well as the EBRD/EIB sponsored Enterprise Expansion Fund (ENEF II). Mr Klingensmith is a graduate of Tulane University, and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Mr Klingensmith has been a member the Finance and Investment Committee since 2026. He is also a board member of the Singapore Cheshire Home and member of its audit and investment sub-committees
