More Responded to Call by Infocomm Accessibility Centre to Help Narrow the Digital Divide for People with Disabilities at Tweet Meet 2011

Tweet Meet 2011, organised by the Infocomm Accessibility Centre (IAC), gathered volunteers, bloggers and supportive members of the public in cyber space to help bridge the digital divide for people with disabilities (PWDs) in Singapore. Singaporeans were encouraged to rally the cause online via networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Windows Live and Skype, and to enable virtual interaction and engagement between those with disabilities, friends, families and the public.

Greater Opportunities Await Persons with Disabilities at the ‘Towards Inclusiveness in the Workplace: Employing Persons with Disabilities’ Event

More opportunities are now available for persons with disabilities to broaden their network and meet potential employers. The Microsoft Unlimited Potential Scholarship award presentation and IT Apprenticeship graduation ceremony returned this year with the inclusion of two key establishments to connect scholarship recipients and graduates with prospective companies for employment possibilities – the Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF).

Infocomm Accessibility Centre and Tribal DDB Strikes Partnership to Enable More People with Disabilities

The Infocomm Accessibility Centre (IAC) announced today a strategic partnership between the Centre and Tribal DDB, an international digital marketing agency in Singapore. This partnership will see IAC and Tribal DDB working together to enable more people with disabilities, starting with the offering of internship opportunities for IAC trainees to hone their IT and design skills in a real-life work environment.

Making Singapore a More Accepting Society for People with Disabilities

The Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD) is furthering its advocacy for equal opportunities for people with disabilities with the launch of an online survey to gather the nation’s perception towards people with disabilities. Bursary Helps Students with Disabilities and Those with Disabled Parents Cope with Education Fees
