As we welcome a brand new year, SPD stands at an exciting juncture – shaped by the progress we have made together and the possibilities ahead. Our mission to empower persons with disabilities to live independently and with dignity remains at the heart of all that we do.
In 2025, we walked alongside more than 13,200 persons with disabilities and their families, supporting them through life’s many stages. Among them was Rafiqi, a pre-schooler with autism who struggled with speech, but found his voice with early intervention at SPD@Kembangan. Polytechnic student Eng Yong En and undergraduate Raphaella Ranenthera Gautama are pursuing their academic aspirations with the help of our bursary and scholarship awards. Mr Larry Chong and Mr Edmund Ho achieved employment, financial independence, and dignity with support from our employment team. Mdm Gonzales Gerly Tina and Mdm James Merlyn Susan regained strength at our rehabilitation centre and senior care centre respectively, while Mr Gabriel Tan discovered social and community support through the Enabling Services Hub in Punggol. These stories reflect the impact we strive to create every day.
We deepened our impact in meaningful ways, enhancing autism-friendly features and new initiatives such as the Enabling Skills for Life programme, expanding our reach with our new additions of early intervention and senior care centres, fostering inclusion in schools and neighbourhoods, and strengthening community support through the Enabling Services Hubs in Tampines and Punggol. We advanced sector leadership in early intervention, community inclusion and rehabilitative services. Each step brings us closer to a more inclusive society.
Over 90% of those surveyed affirmed the quality of our services, a testament to the dedication of our team and the trust placed in us by the community.
Behind every milestone is the people who bring our mission to life. Each staff member completed an average of 40 training hours, and we welcomed more than 100 new colleagues to support our growing programmes. These investments reflect SPD’s unwavering commitment to building a capable, resilient and future-ready workforce.
As we step into 2026, Vision 2030, our strategic roadmap for the next five years, will guide SPD’s growth across three key pillars: Early Intervention, Post-18 Care & Employment, and Community Rehabilitation & Senior Care – supported by capability building, service innovation, partnerships, and organisational excellence.
It calls on us to embrace change with confidence and work collectively toward a shared future – one that is inclusive, forward-looking, and full of potential.
