Graduation Parties 2016

06/01/2017

Take a look at the graduation ceremony and performances as we celebrated the achievements of the children enrolled in our Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC), as well as clients in our Day Activity Centre.

EIPIC’s Graduating Class of 2016

The Building Bridges EIPIC Centre graduation ceremony was held at Zhangde Primary School on 26 November 2016. Close to 300 children and their families from the four branches attended the event, making it the largest graduation ceremony organised thus far.

SPD’s volunteers and staff manned the face-painting as well as games and photo booths. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Director of Disability Division, Ms Fatima Mustafa, and saw 28 students graduate from the programme.

The graduation ceremony was co-emceed by Ms Premala D/O Benogopan, an EIPIC teacher at SPD Ability Centre, and Ms Marie Ho whose four-year-old son Darius Wong has been receiving intervention support for global developmental delay at the SPD Ability Centre for more than two years. Ms Marie closed the event by encouraging parents to “never give up on the children and to overcome life hurdles positively".

DAC ‘Superheroes’ Year-End Performance

Clients and staff from the SPD Day Activity Centre (DAC) held their annual musical performance on 2 December 2016 to the theme of ‘Superheroes’.

An atypical graduation ceremony, the yearly affair served as a platform to showcase each of the participant’s confidence and potential that the clients accumulated from the life skills training and experiences over the past year.

The audience consisting of staff and caregivers had good fun as the clients, who came dressed as their favourite Superheroes, gave their best to every song and dance performance. Kudos to the DAC’s training officers who practiced diligently with the clients for weeks.
