Continuing Therapy Programme | SPD - Singapore

what we do

continuing therapy programme

The SPD Continuing Therapy Programme (CTP) is a centre-based programme that offers speech and occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and youth between the ages of 0-17.

The CTP is established to address the community need for therapy services for infants, children and youth with disabilities, of which the demand is most acute among the children who are diagnosed with developmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay and Speech and Language Impairments. These children exhibit delays in physical/motor skills, speech and communications skills, adaptive skills, etc.

Since July 2016, the CTP has been accredited by CARF International for a period of three years. This is the first time any local community-based outpatient rehabilitation programmes for children in Singapore has been accredited by CARF International. It is one of the most established international accreditation bodies for community rehabilitation programmes.  This accreditation signals our commitment to continually improve our services, listen to your feedback, and serve the community better.

The objectives of the Continuing Therapy Programme are to:

    • Provide an affordable family and client centered therapy programme for children and youth with developmental delays and disabilities.
    • Adopt a collaborative process with the client and his/her family and school environment (if needed) in developing outcomes for the client.
    • Utilise a client and family centered approach in partnership with the client and his/her family to maximise each client’s ability to function as independently as possible within the home, school and community.
    • Empower and equip clients’ families/school environment with the knowledge and skills needed so that they are empowered to help their child carry over the learning from therapy to home.
